Meet the artist

Sandy Agas

My name is Sandy and I live in Johannesburg, South Africa. I have always had a nine to five job and none of these satisfied me. On weekends I would paint and as I am an animal lover and grew up with dogs, Boxers particularly, I turned to doing animal portraits.

My Story

This began around 2014 when I did the first painting of was my sister Gail’s dog, Blade and is featuring in our testimonials and he has a special place in her home. Thereafter the word of mouth happened, and more and more people were contacting me to paint their pets. Especially those that have passed on. It’s as though I get in a “zone” and it feels as though I am channelling their souls when painting them. I take a long time on their eyes as that’s where the character lies. I have many thrilled clients and the emotions I see when I hand them their paintings (if this is possible), makes it so worthwhile.
